I'm come back Korea

Today, I finished my final exams and I hand in my final essay to writing class tomorrow morning, I finally finished this semester and the life of America as an exchange student!

In retrospect, I met so many people after I came to UNK and have lots of experiences. One of regret things is i didn't approach to American students. Include this class I took four classes but I cannot make many friends different from my expectation. Last semester, I had to take ELI classes so I cannot meet many American students. At that time, I decided and expected that if I take regular classes I met many native friends, but now my statue is very different. I don't have any brave to approach native students.

I know you guys didn't know that I'm very active and talkative person. I really enjoy talking with my friends even in English and I'm not good English speaker. I really regret that I didn't say hello to anybody in this class. If you guys want please add me on facebook. (My full name is Eunboseul Ahn) :-)

Anyway, I really like to live in America seperate from my family and friends. Through this experience I know the real worthy of my people. I can meet many international friends and many good people. I can experience very different class from Korea and I trip to famous cities all alone. I believe that this experiences can help to make my life as healthy and sweet.

My idol star go to military service

My idol star, Jeawon LEE went to military service yesterday. In Korea, military service is duty for men, so every man, except who has disease, have to go and spend almost two years in there.
As a entertainer, go to military service is quite huge disturb their career because for two years they cannot do anything so public can erase them in their memory. Because of this fact some star try to avoid military service by unfair way or unfair prescription, but if public know about this their lives as celebrity is done.

Now, Jeawon is thirty years old and this is very late age for military service. When he appear the media as a idol star, he was fifteen years old and I'm eight years old. Nowadays, my generation or younger guys go to military service. He is too old compare to the others, so I'm little bit worried about him. He was really popular star in my generation but in military he is just older person in lower level. I heard in army, there is some weird people so they enjoyed annoying lower level soilders. This is my main worry thing.

Anyway, I'm proud of my star who go to army just same as normal people. I hope he stay in good shape and gain weigth, come back to in front of public in very healthy state! Good luck!

Jisung Park, the most popular Korean soccer player

Most Korean people like soccer as same as american football to American. This trend started from 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup. During 2002 World Cup, most of Korean went out to street and cheered our country with ethusiasm!

You can figure out that red things? This is the picture of 2002, in front of Seoul cityhall. Many Soeul citizen include baby, parents, couple, students, and even elders, gather there with wearing RED clothes and cheering our country! (so we called ourselves RED DEVILS) We don't have any feast like this, so it is the first time that I saw every people looked like crazy!! :-)

Jisung PARK is one of the most fabulous player in that year. He assisted many goals and he record very important goal in the Portugal play. He was a sort of HERO to our country! After this, he became the first player who went to primium league, Menchester United. Even he has flat foot, he always show to us very talented and progressed. He always try to show developed his talent! We love this his character!

These days, he was so quiet, so I wonder his news, and today I found his article. He is not changed. Still now, he is very talented player! Frankly speaking, I don't know about soccer and don't have any interests but I like Jisung Park. I really pround of him so if I heard he did good job in his area, I got a energy and brave! I think every Korean people same as me. They got energy from his good news so they had ethusiasm to his record.

have to change eduational environment - video commantary

Today, I was shocked by an article about a happening occurred at a girls’ high school in Kwangju, South Korea. According to the news paper, a teacher punished her students several times by giving them a shame that order took off their uniform skirt in front of their classmates and walked around classroom. The reason why they got this punishment was they got bad score at pop quiz. As a girl, who got this punishment and who watched this punishment both felt shame but they couldn’t raise objection to teacher because they worried about teacher hate them. In our society it can be influence to get in university. However, the teacher insisted that it just one or two times and she let students seat in front of classroom with taking off their skirt but let them cover their the lower part of body with their skirt. Is it can be excuse about her behavior?
Few days ago, I saw an article from the Internet community about writer’s younger sister’s teacher. He is music teacher and he is famous for sexual harassment to young girls. He picked pretty girls among the students and bothering them in sexual way, so every girls hate music class and some girls cry after class. Actually, he was junior high teacher but he kicked out from the school because of this behavior but he move to high school and kept his behavior. He is relative of the chief director of school, so school ignored his behavior.
When I was a high school student, even though my school is Christian mission school, we had weird teachers, also. Some of them didn’t have any passion of teaching even in a class, some of them required money to students’ parents. I really hate that kind of teachers, because I couldn’t respect them. Of course I met so many great teachers in my life, but I think all teachers have to have a point that students can respect, even though the point is just love for students.
Education is really important thing in our children’s life, because education has big influence to development of children’s value. This is the reason why we concentrate on teachers. In education part, the role of teacher takes a huge place. Depending on meet which kind of teacher, children have different values. They learn values, cultures and the way of thinking, from the teachers teaching. However, in Korean society, people think this important ‘teacher’ as a stable and convenient job because except very special case nobody makes them quit the job and this job has long vacation with money. People who choose a teacher as a stable job do not have passion for teaching and lack of love to students, so they make very weird happening like as my examples. If they have real passion for teaching, they could not do unfair behavior or saying, because they don’t want to students get hurt by them.
These days, some students beat teacher or call the police, so people think teachers’ authority went away in this society different from the past, but many student still feel difficult to teacher. They try to respect teachers and follow them. This is the real situation! In this society, students just are victim. Because of the traditional authority concept of teacher, we don’t have any evaluating system even in university. In this situation, it is impossible that students judge the teacher in high school and junior high. I think we need evaluating system as fast as possible and through evaluating system, bring teachers to their senses. We had a plan to bring in teacher evaluating system but this plan is not effective. The fact that people who evaluate teachers are just two, principal and vice-principal, is the clear evidence to prove this system will not working. School is organization as same as other social organization, so they need to showing good to their supervisor. If bring in this evaluating system, they are more concentrate on their supervisor not students, and school control the teacher by their tastes. It is going well you think?
People said students don’t have a good sense of judgment as much as adult but they have ability to judge people over people’s expectation. At least, they know which one is right and who really love them. I think students have to participate in evaluation. They are the witness of teachers’ ordinary behavior and teaching. If they are participated in evaluation, teachers can’t handle student carelessly anymore and reduce hurt by teachers. It can be the best way to change our educational environment. We have to remember and consider which way is the best way for our children at first.

Having Something Over Exciting, The Movie ‘A.I.’ - Column #3.

A.I.(Artificial Intelligence) is one of my favorite movies in my life. No, it is the very movie that I couldn’t forget about it. In my memory, this movie is crying. When I was in junior high, maybe 13years old, I went to the theater with my friends to see A.I. We expected to watch this movie because movie director was Steven Spielberg and my favorite child actor Haley Joel Osment was in that movie! That is the first time to go to movie and but the ticket my own self, so my expectation is really high and after movie end I couldn’t stop crying and my eyes are swollen. The theater is small and old, sound also not good but it was not matter to touch my heart. It might be effect of atmosphere? The image about movie A.I. is dark, cold, sad, but warmhearted. As time goes by, I forgot details about this movie I just can remember that I impressed by this movie and for a while this movie was my best movie.

Now, I’m 22 years old and to 22-year-old big girl this movie is quite wired feeling. A.I. is still dark, cold and sad but it is little bit different from the past. At first, I impressed by computer graphic which is looks pretty well past seven years. However, the main thing which I impressed is camera angle of every scene. I haven’t thought about Steven Spielberg’s abilities but through this movie, I recognize why he can be world famous director. He uses the reflection and refraction very effectively and makes his own world. Without fast beat music like a horror movies he can make cold and creepy atmosphere in the movie.

In addition, I re-found the worthy of actors. I know Haley Joel Osment has real good talent but through this movie he makes me fan of him. He has very warm and tender face but his blue eye and not changed face expression make me sad and sometimes scary. At that time, he was young boy but he looks real ‘David’, a child robot, not ‘real’ thing. I cannot deny everybody who appear in this movie show really good act, but without this little boy they cannot make this level movie.
Frankly speaking, in the past the only thing I thought after movie is just pity for David, but now I felt more pity for the human than for David, a robot. Until now I cannot find the meaning of this movie that director intended to show to audiences but I can have some question to find the meaning. As time goes by, people make more and more develop culture and technology.

However, this high-level culture and technology cannot give love to human beings. People always feel lack of love and lack of emotions, so they try to make the world that can buy the love. I don’t know well but I thought programmed love is not real love because robots are not human. It just followed human’s behavior. This movie just shows to us our society’s sad portrait, following not real thing.

I know this movie is not sold well and not evaluated well, but I think this movie ask us quite serious questions. Someone said this movie is so boring but I think it has worthy to see even once. It has something over an exciting.

Different thinking

On thursday, I learn about harassment and sexual harassment in interpersonal communication class and during the class, we divided five group get different situation senarioes each other. Through group discussion we had to dicide the situation is sexual harassment or not. Frankly speaking I cannot understand my group's discussion because they are so many people talk at once. Anyway after gruop discussion we share our result of discussion and I'm shocked by there thinking.
I grow up in very closed culture, and this is the reason that I have very strict sexual value. (In my society, there is not many marriage students and in the not far past marriaged women cannot entered university.)I think every single situations are sexual harassment but my classmate think very different. I'm live here for eight monthes but I felt we are very different more and more in everything. The environment is very important to make someone's value. I know this fact already, but I haven't felt it is sooooooooooooooo real before I came to America.
